Human Resources practitioner, consultant and coach

As a Human Resources practitioner, consultant and coach, Val enjoys assisting mission driven organizations with their human resource needs and developing and coaching leaders. 

 Through Human Elevated LLC, Val teaches human resource management, provides human resource consulting, leadership development and coaching.  For the last 8 ½ years, Val has worked with religious institutions, overseeing their human resources function, doing HR audits, ensuring there is compliance with federal, state and city employment laws, revising policies and procedures, using HR technology to streamline administrative processes, incorporating best practices, building effective and more progressive human resources functions/teams as well as doing leadership training, development and coaching to build self-awareness and leadership capacity. 

 She currently serves as VP, Chief Human Resources Officer at the Collegiate Church Corporation.  Prior to that she served as Director of HR at The Riverside Church of New York, Director of HR for YCS, a large, statewide non-profit in New Jersey and in Corporate roles beforehand. 

 Val has an Executive Master’s in Human Resources Leadership from Rutgers University, a SHRM-SCP, PHR, Professional Coaching Certification and MBTI Certification.  She lives in Nanuet, New York with her husband Bill.
